Another Day
It's a miracle! I made it through yet another day of school. Today was particularly nerve racking for me. I had to present my Senior Thesis this afternoon, and boy was I nervous!! I couldn't focus in Biblical Hebrew, and God was good enough to hear my prayers and keep Dr. Ricks from calling on me to read and translate. Reading I can do fine, translating actually requires thought.

Right after Biblical Hebrew I took my flashdrive to a computer to check my powerpoint. I have a Mac, but all of the computers in the classrooms are Windows, so I wanted to make sure that everything transferred over correctly. Once I had ascertained that all was well in that department, I hastened to my home away from home on campus: a little alcove off the south hall of the third floor of the JFSB - pictured below.

I then proceeded to try to keep myself from having an absolute mental breakdown and vomiting. I went over my slideshow and what I was going to say, and felt pretty good about it. Then I tried to distract myself in whatever way I can. I checked email, went on Facebook, listened to music, tried to read The Bridal Canopy (which I really don't recommend for a distractionary tactic), and even just sat there and breathed.

But I made it through. I gave my presentation and it went well, despite my nervousness. Let me tell ya, praying works! I could tell that I was nervous (I could hear my voice shaking ever so slightly), but I was told that it didn't show at all. And so now I can breathe again!! I just have to finish writing the paper, which I think will be ok, and prepare for the final. It's such a releif!

On another note, the last two mornings on my way to class I have been taking pictures of my walk. I think that they demostrate the fickleness of Utah weather. For example...

and...

See what I mean? Both days were beautiful in their own way. I love my walk to class in the morning. It's always beautiful no matter the weather. For the longest time I didn't look up. I was pretty much ignorant of the buildings and the mountains and how amazing and beautiful this world is. I highly recommend looking up.

Another post? AND pics? Total score for me to read! I'm glad your presentation went well, I had faith in ya. I'm experiencing the same fickleness here...70 degrees, then snow, etc. Maybe one day it will be warm!
